    Ashley Evans, LPC

Hi.  I’m Ashley Evans and I’m a trauma-focused therapist and certified personal coach.

    Who Am I?

My interest in therapy was born out of a deep desire to understand how to live with a loved one’s addiction.   It was a long road, paved with frustration, tears, and a lot of humility, but out of it came new realms of understanding and compassion. Raised in a conservative Christian home with a “Leave it to Beaver” family,  I have a great respect for family and faith. That being said, life has led me on many interesting journeys, many of which I could never have imagined.  I’ve traveled the roads of separation, divorce, remarriage and now a blended family.  I’ve had religious trauma and PTSD myself.

What is the difference between a life coach and therapist?

I practice both as a life coach and as a licensed psychotherapist.  As a life coach, I give advice when asked and share wisdom I’ve gleaned through life experience.  I work with men and women nationwide to increase emotional and physical intimacy. As a psychotherapist, I am more focused on my client’s inner emotional world, and work purposefully to identify unconscious thoughts, behaviors, and defenses and bring them to the surface so that we may understand maladaptive patterns.

I am a huge believer in post-traumatic growth as I’ve witnessed it time and time again, both personally and professionally.  I am here to help you when you’re ready.

    I'm here to help.

I tailor therapy to the needs of each client in order to achieve the very best possible outcome.  My specialty is helping people just like you heal from trauma, improve their relationships and increase intimacy.  I also assist clients who are searching for deeper meaning and satisfaction from life.  I especially enjoy working with those who are feeling “stuck”.

I work with men and women who:

    • feel emotionally unsatisfied or frustrated in their relationships
    • crave deeper emotional or physical intimacy or
    • struggle with pornography in their relationship

If you want to get technical, I have a humanistic, client-centered holistic approach.  I am trained in EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprogramming), EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy) and CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and use a variety of modalities in sessions. I am an interpersonal and process-oriented therapist who does not always remain neutral in the therapy room. I have healthy boundaries, but am NOT stiff or rigid. I go “deep” during sessions, and focus on the “there and then” as well as the “here and now”.

Although I am a Christian, I respect and welcome all belief systems, races, creeds, nationalities, and sexual orientations. Spanning from conservative Christian PTA moms to more progressive and unconventional lifestyles such as consensual non-monogamy, I’ve seen it all.  Respectful of your framework and your values, I strive to help you determine what’s holding you back from achieving happiness and the best version of yourself and how to go forward.

Life is too short to not give yourself every opportunity to succeed.  Sure, life has its share of ups and downs, but you don’t have to face it alone and when armed with the right tools, it is absolutely possible to have inner peace surrounded by external chaos.

    Ashley
